The news presented by Phil Schiller in his opening keynote for Macworld Expo 2009 should be in Brazilian lands in February, according to the press office of Apple Brazil. This includes the iLife ’09 and the new 17-inch MacBook Pro, which were not made available immediately after the presentation, in the United States.
IWork ’09, whose trial available for download, costs R $ 200 at authorized resellers and Premium Resellers of Ma around here. Interestingly – since both have the same price in the United States -, iLife costs R $ 230, about 13% more.
For now, no mention has been made of the “iLife Up-to-Date Program”, which will allow new users who purchase Macs by March 28 to upgrade from iLife ’08 to the new version. In the United States, the update for these cases costs $ 10, about 12.5% of the retail package value.
The new 17-inch MacBook Pro, with an aluminum monobloc manufacturing process (unibody) should cost R $ 13,500. Compared to the previous model, it is about 10% more expensive – the current 17 ″ Pro costs R $ 12,300, which is already absurd, in my opinion.
In addition, the Mac Box Set package, which features iLife ’09, iWork ’09 and Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6, will also be available in February for R $ 400.
