Apple job openings indicate plans to change iGadgets connector

Two interesting openings appeared on the Apple website: one for Connector Design Engineer (Connector Design Engineer) and another for Product Design Engineer for Connector (Product Design Eng – Connector), both based at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California (United States).

The connector design engineer will be responsible for managing multiple connector projects and developments for the iPod product line. Multifunctional development and consultancy will be an important part of your daily work. As chief engineer, you will be responsible for identifying connection technologies / requirements for new products, and monitoring through selection and development of suitable interconnections. This often involves adapting existing connectors or complete new designs. Interfacing with connector suppliers to drive and implement the necessary design changes, or creating completely new designs will also be an important part of your daily work.

Apple USB / 30-pin cable

As we can see, the job description is clear and makes us think about two things: 1. Apple still hasn't found the ideal solution for replacing the 30-pin connector, used since 2003 in its iGadgets (iPods, iPhones and iPads); 2. she is already thinking ahead, maybe in a third, fourth, fifth generation of connectors

The fact that, if the first alternative is the correct one, it would discard the alleged photos of parts of Ma's new smartphone and rumors that the new gadget would come with a more compact connector. However, this search for professionals, regardless of area, usually affects medium / long-term decisions, that is, the connector of the new iPhone must have been ready for a long time.
