Since the new Apple TV was launched, finding out which apps are already available to her without browsing the App Store on the device is a complicated task. There is, for example, an iTunes Preview through which we can view their information through the browser (see an example here). But the company is working on a solution to alleviate this.
As we can see in the image above, by the identification SF.UniversalAppleTV Apple is including new information on the apps page on the iOS App Store to inform whether or not such an app is available for tvOS (ie, on Apple TV).
It is quite possible that this is only the beginning of a greater and necessary integration so that we, consumers, can view apps and their information even without being on Apple TV.
And speaking of apps for Apple TV, according to appFigures there are already more than 2,600 apps available on the tvOS App Store, about 447 new ones are released weekly.
The overwhelming majority of the category Games, followed by far by the category Entertainment. Still, this dominates the ranking of the 50 most downloaded apps, snapping up 28 positions while Games “Only” 8.
A curiosity about the categories: although we only have 7 of them visible, there are already 20 available for developers.
Talking about the free vs. 1,611 of them are free (representing 61%).
Among those paid, most cost just $ 1. Not only that: 85% of paid apps cost between $ 1 and $ 3.
Let more and more applications come!
