Pretend surprise: the Apple was considered the company most admired the world for Fortune. Of course, this is quite a piece of news, but the success of Apple in the classification is not exactly unheard of: this is the 13th time that the Cupertino giant leads the ranking World’s Most Admired Companies of the American magazine.
In addition to Apple, Amazon, a Microsoft and the Alphabet (Google’s parent company) are also listed on the Top 10. To conduct the research, the Fortune collaborated with the company Korn Ferry, which analyzed a sample of 1,000 American companies (ranked by the highest revenues) and companies with revenues of more than $ 10 billion outside the United States.
To determine the most reputable companies, Korn Ferry asked executives, directors and analysts to rank the selected companies under ten different criteria, from investments to social responsibility and products. More precisely, about 3,770 employees participated in the survey, and anyone could vote for any company, regardless of the sector.
See how the ranking was:
- Apple
- Amazon
- Microsoft
- Walt Disney
- Berkshire Hathaway
- Starbucks
- Alphabet
- JPMorgan Chase
- Costco Wholesale
- Salesforce
For the 13th consecutive year, therefore, Apple was the best rated company in most aspects; Amazon, on the other hand, remained on Apple’s tail for the 5th consecutive year. The highlight was Microsoft, which jumped from 6th place in 2018 to 3rd place. In addition, Netflix, which ranked 8th on the list, left the Top 10 in the last classification.
To remain undefeated for 13 years, Apple is certainly on the right track for its corporate reputation. Will it last (even) longer?
