Apple is one of the sponsors of the BSides SF security conference, which is taking place in San Francisco

If it is already difficult to see Apple attending security conferences, imagine it involved in holding one. But, it seems, exactly what happened.

THE BSides It is a non-profit organization created to increase knowledge about information security. It is an open forum for discussions and debate involving security engineers and their affiliates, which takes place annually. In 2017, the San Francisco event started yesterday (12/2) and ends today we are talking about something organized 100% by volunteers, promoted by and for the community.

As we can see on the event's sponsorship page, the Apple it is listed in the category “contributing sponsors”, “breakfast sponsors” and “lunch sponsors”.

Apple's involvement as a contributor was not disclosed, but it is still interesting to see that the company, from time to time, is much more involved with this type of initiative, the opening of a rewards program for discoveries of security vulnerabilities is Not to let me lie.
