Apple is expected to start online sales in India soon; new store in Tokyo will open next week

For some time now, Apple's situation in Indiais one of the largest consumer markets on the planet and with the most potential but where, on the other hand, Ma's penetration is almost nil, especially in the smartphone segment (the most important and profitable of the company). Apparently Ma is tweaking the ropes to try to reverse this picture in the not so distant future.

According to a report by Bloomberg, the Cupertino giant is preparing to inaugurate a Indian Apple Online Store still this year. The main intention, of course, is to sell iPhones directly in the country, which the company has never been able to do because of protectionist local government rules, which are now being relaxed.

More precisely, the Indian government demanded that at least 30% of the products sold by a company in the country be produced on local territory, a goal that Apple could never achieve. Recently, however, that rule has changed: companies can now put 30% of their own products produced for sale abroad into account, which Apple is able to do, considering the amount of locally produced iPhones for sale in the rest of the world.

Accordingly, Apple should, according to sources close to the subject, start online sales in India as early as 2019. What's more, with the relaxation of the rules, the way is open for Apple to open its first official store in indian territory; as rumors have brought, it should be erected in 2020, in a location already defined in Mumbai.

If the company's "official" entry into India is of any value to increase the current 1% of market share Apple's good local smartphone market, these are another five hundred, and we will have to continue to follow this story.

Tokyo

While Apple's presence in India is taking its first steps, Japan The thing has been bouncing since the last decade. Ma recently announced the opening of its ninth store in the Land of the Rising Sun, the fifth in the capital Tokyo it's about Apple Marunouchi, which will be inaugurated in day 7 next (Saturday) at 10am local time.

Apple Marunouchi

The new store will be located on the ground floor of the Mitsubishi building, in one of Tokyo's busiest business districts, and it is just a few blocks from Tokyo Station, the main railway station in all of Japan. Apple Marunouchi will be the company's largest retail space in Japanese territory.

A few weeks ago, Apple decorated the space's façade with thematic siding, which forms Japanese characters (kanji) while recalling the graphical representations of a rail network. There is still no information or photos about the interior of the store, but it is known that it houses all the equipment and experiences recently introduced by Ma as the sessions of the Today at Apple (which may already have its calendar checked, by the way), the huge LED screen and the revamped environment, using more wood and plants.

As more information about the new store goes out, we will inform you all, of course.
