Now that the line iPads finally it makes sense, the entry option between Apple tablets is very attractive. Of course, it is not extremely powerful or full of extra features, but it has a good screen, fulfills basic functions very well and even supports Apple Pencil. And Apple may have good plans for the future of its cheapest iPad.
According to DigiTimes, Apple is due to present an update for the incoming iPad at the end of the third quarter, and the new device would gain a screen increase: from the current 9.7 inches, we would move to a panel of 10.2 inches – that would bring the tablet closer to the dimensions of the current iPad Air, and make the edges of the device thinner.
despite the DigiTimes having a questionable track record as to Apple’s release predictions, the vehicle has trusted sources within Apple’s supply chain. In addition, the rumors match the records of some new iPad models made by Apple at the Eurasian Economic Commission – meaning speculations are very likely to be real.
It remains to be seen, now, what other novelties besides the screen would be presented by Apple and when, exactly, this presentation would take place. The report does not specify a date, so Apple may choose to reveal the new iPad alongside the new iPhones, (probably) in September; the most likely, however, is that the company will keep the revelation of the new tablet for October, as it has traditionally done.
