Apple is considering modifying iPhones 7 and 8 in Germany to bypass Qualcomm's patent

If a long time ago Apple's biggest rival in the courts was Samsung, today that title of Qualcomm. And, of all the disputes they have over the world, the hottest of the last few weeks has taken place in Germany.

The last chapter of the story was favorable to Ma: the Munich regional court rejected four of the eight lawsuits filed by Qualcomm against it. Meanwhile, the San Diego firm has demanded that Apple pay him a fine for allegedly violating the court’s order to take iPhones 7 and 8th the local market.

The information for the day concerns precisely these devices. According to the WinFuture, Apple would be considering the possibility of creating modified versions of the iPhones 7 and 8 in order to circumvent Qualcomm's patents, one referring to battery savings of the devices when they are not in active use and to be able to sell them freely in Germany.

Vehicle sources indicate that local dealers have already received the part numbers new models, which can be ready for sale in less than a month. Apparently, they will come with some modified version of their cell modems that do not infringe on the patents challenged by Qualcomm but it is not possible to say if there is any practical / visible difference for smartphone users.

Another Apple Victory

In yet another partial victory for Apple in this fight, an American federal judge ruled this week that Qualcomm will not be able to obtain financial compensation for possible violations before the opening of its lawsuit in 2017.

Furthermore, as reported by the Bloomberg, the judge has already said that Apple is not infringing at least one of the patents claimed by Qualcomm related to graphics and energy consumption.

That case, specifically, happen in San Diego (California, United States) home of Qualcomm. His trial is set to begin next month.
