While computer sales in the UK dropped 5.1% in the first quarter of 2009 (reaching 3 million units), Apple managed to market 6.6% more Macs in the same period, entering the Top 5 for the first time, according to a survey released this week by Gartner. It won Fujitsu Siemens' place.
Today Apple has a market share 4.8%, compared to 4.3% in the same period in 2008. HP is in first place with 22.2%, followed by Dell with 20.3%, Acer with 16.8% and Toshiba with 9, 1%. This shows the length of the path that Ma has yet to travel.
Apple has yet to make the list of the top five manufacturers in Western Europe.
