Apple introduces some of the 59 new emoji that will be added soon to their systems.

On the eve of World Emoji Day (World Emoji Day), Apple today introduced some of the 59 (!) New emojis that will arrive at their operating systems by the end of this year.

The new characters will be added to iOS, iPadOS, macOS and watchOS in the fall of the northern hemisphere (our spring). Usually, they arrive as one of the news of the ".1" updates of the new systems there for October / November.

This time there is news in the food categories (such as waffle, falafel, butter, garlic), animals (such as sloth, flamingo, gamb and orangutan), activities and various happy faces. Diversity-focused items, including co-guides, hearing aids, wheelchairs, prosthetics and more, are also planned.

The hands-on emoji specifically are gaining a “big upgrade” that includes over 75 possible combinations of skin types and genres.

All these new emojis are part of the standard. Unicode 12.0 and will also come to other desktop / mobile platforms each with its own style of images, of course.
