Apple improves Safari feature to view and buy products online in AR

Apple is enhancing the feature Quick Look (not macOS, quick view), designed to allow users to see versions of products they plan to buy from augmented reality on the iPhone / iPad. The information is TechCrunch.

Among the improvements, retailers will be able to add new buttons to allow consumers to make purchases directly from the AR view, as well as pay with Apple Pay or add a link to contact store support – that is, everything to facilitate and streamline the process purchase.

Stores such as Home Depot, Wayfair, Bang & Olufsen and 1-800-Flowers have implemented even more purchase options for customers, who can see and learn more about a particular product before purchasing it.

Quick Look on Safari

Apple added the Quick Look to Safari in 2018, when consumers could only view a product online in AR – and not buy it directly from there, something that was only introduced with iOS 13, but that has just started to be implemented by retailers.

By the end of the year, Apple plans to further improve the Quick Look with a spatial audio feature – included in the first beta of iOS 13.4. Specifically, this feature will allow shopping sites (and other augmented reality sites) to add audio options to the browsing experience.
