A few months ago, we commented here about how Apple had regained third place in the Fortune 500, list of the largest US companies in a series of metrics by magazine Fortune. Now in the ranking Fortune Global 500 encompassing the largest companies in the world, and in the US alone, Ma has done just as well.
Conquering the 11th place In the overall ranking, Apple is the best-placed technology company in the world, surpassing rivals like Amazon (13) the Samsung (15), Alphabet (Google me business at 37), Microsoft (60), Huawei (61) and Dell (84). Other technology companies, such as the Sony, a LG, a Nokia and the Xiaomi, also featured in the ranking, but below the top 100.
Even with relatively low iPhones sales in recent quarters, Apple is the world's second largest company in terms of annual profits: $ 59 billion over the past 12 months, against nearly $ 111 billion of the leader in this metric, Saudi Aramco (6 place in the overall ranking).
O Walmart continues to lead the Fortune Global 500, but the 2019 list comes as a surprise: for the first time, it is made up of more companies from China (129) that of United States (121). Among the fastest-growing Chinese companies, we have the Xiaomi (which debuted in the ranking now), Tencent (which rose 94 positions) and the Alibaba (went up 118).
Among Brazilian companies, we have the Petrobras (74th place), the Ita Unibanco (191), the JBS (219), the Bradesco (221), the Bank of Brazil (269), the Federal Savings Bank (305), the Valley (336) and Ultrapar (499). All lacked positions relative to 2018 minus Caixa, which remained in place.
