Apple hires journalist who wrote about the company on TechCrunch

Darrell Etherington was a journalist at the site TechCrunch, focusing its work on news about Apple. But, in a while, he simply stopped writing on the website.

Because the 9to5Mac stated the reason for this simple: Etherington was hired by Ma despite his LinkedIn profile still reporting that he works at TechCrunch.

It is not new that, since the death of Steve Jobs and the retirement of Katie Cotton (former head of communications at Apple), the company is a little more friendly in this regard.

The hiring of Etherington who would be working at Ma's Canadian office in Toronto is not the first and probably not the last of its kind, as Apple recently also hired Anand Shimpi (co-founder of the site AnandTech), Chris Breen (ex-journalist at Macworld), Brian Klug (who did reviews for the AnandTech), among others.
