Apple hires 4 more big names in the TV market as 17 autonomous car engineers leave the company

Apple's investments related to the production of original content and an almost certain investment in a streaming of videos just don't stop! After hiring the duo Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg (co-chairs of Sony Pictures Television) and Matt Cherniss (former president of WGN America) just to name a few examples, Ma has now recruited four more big names.

Kim Rozenfeld (former head of TV programming at Sony), Max Aronson, Ali Woodruff (both former Sony development executives) and Rita Cooper Lee (former head of communication with the press at WGN America) are the newest names to land in Cupertino. His former positions at his former companies leave no doubt of the roles he now played at Ma; and see that the group's synergy must be strong, since all the names listed in this article came from only two companies, as informed by deadline.

You win on one side, you lose on the other

If the signals in this new video segment are positive, in the case of autonomous cars the news is not so encouraging. As reported by Bloomberg, Apple lost nothing less than 17 engineers who were working directly on the “Project Titan” for the startup Zoox (also focused on autonomous cars).

The reason for this would be simple: the Apple project recently took a nice turn and is no longer focused on autonomous cars, but on autonomous systems in general which will also include cars, but not necessarily the vehicle's hardware. As these 17 engineers would be specialized in the design of elements present in vehicles (brake and suspension systems, for example), it does not make much sense to remain at Ma, considering that all these news related to “Project Titan” are really true.
