To participate in the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), you need to be lucky to be one of the 5,000 drawn among thousands, perhaps millions of developers. And, more than that, you need to have a good amount of money in your pocket, after all, the event costs only US $ 1,600, and you still need to pay for accommodation, food, a ticket to California, among other travel related costs.

If it is no longer easy for anyone to be able to afford it all, imagine for a student. Precisely for this reason, Apple traditionally separates a good amount of tickets in order to distribute among this public so important to the company. And not just the ticket, no. Those selected by Ma vo to San Jose with everything paid for!

In total, there are 350 scholarships distributed by Apple. To win one, students must be 13 years of age or older, have a free account as an Apple developer or be part of the Developer Program, be enrolled in an accredited partial or full course and create an interactive scene to be experienced in up to three minutes, using the Swift Playgrounds app on the iPad or Xcode on macOS. Everything is then evaluated by Apple, which selects the winners based on these works.

I have seen many Brazilian scholarship winners at # WWDC18. Very proud.

Apparently, many Brazilians were successful in winning a WWDC18 scholarship, but two of them were recognized by Apple. That's because, out of this sea of 350 creations, 20 of them were featured on the App Store.

Below is an international selection with the apps of this year's scholarship winners.

And of these 20 apps highlighted by Apple, we have one created Leonardo Alves de Melo and another for Carolina Gradel:
