Apple finally stops beta testers from writing app reviews

Apple has just done something that developers expect h at least four (!) years. From now on, anyone who is testing a beta version of iOS no more writing app reviews.

It sounds like bullshit, but no. We originally dealt with this issue here on the website in June 2011, at the time when iOS 5 was in the testing phase. Nowadays we have the Apple Beta Software Program open “for everyone”, but we know that ordinary users have always liked to venture into beta versions of Apple's operating systems.

The problem that the average user does not understand is that no app (not even the native ones, from Apple!) Needs to work perfectly well in a beta operating system. Incidentally, the testing phase is exactly the moment used by developers so that they themselves can test their apps on the new version of iOS and can make adjustments before the official release to the general public.

If * after * a new iOS launched on a given app is still outdated / outdated and in trouble, yes the responsible person deserves to be criticized. So far, negative reviews on the App Store throwing the average star down simply because it does not work on a beta version of iOS do nothing to help and greatly harm the developer, who in the case of the Apple store does not even have the right to answer.

Congratulations to Apple for finally taking action on this. It took too long, too long.
