THE DigiTimes today announced that Quanta Computer has benefited greatly from large-scale orders placed by Apple, probably its main partner. MacBook orders, for the most part, have been sent to her, currently only a few remain with Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry).

According to the report, Apple's order volume for Quanta rose from 300-400 thousand units in the first half of 2009 to more than 1 million units (!) In the fourth quarter of last year. During the entire period, Apple reportedly sold about 7 million notebooks.
Despite being in a season of low sales volume, Apple apparently maintained the same order level for Quanta in January. In total, the supplier is expected to ship 3.5-3.7 million notebooks in the first month of 2010.
This morning, a leak from Intel's marketing department raised the possibility of seeing a MacBook Pro with a Core i5 chip soon.
