Apple does not officially sell Apple TV in Brazil

With the 160GB Apple TV price drop and the 40GB model being abandoned in the United States earlier this week, several readers came to ask us about the product's availability in Brazilian lands. Of course, without a national iTunes Store, it loses much of its magic, but some readers have international accounts and / or consider it valid even if it is only to transfer content inserted in other ways on iTunes.

Apple TV

contacted Apple Brasil's press office and confirmed that the company does not currently sell Apple TV in the country. We don’t know how long this position is valid for there, but the reader Leandro noted one important thing: the product page on the Apple Brazil website now redirects to the home page, which has not always happened.

It is a fact that Apple TV has never been on official Apple Brazil price lists, but it has long been marketed by authorized resellers, including Apple shops and Apple Premium Resellers: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 you can check it out yourself.

In a quick survey by us this morning on online retailers, only the 40GB model of the Apple TV was found for sale. At Submarino.br, it costs R $ 1,500; on Americanas, the same model is priced at R $ 2,150. At Fnac, we found the 160GB model within the category of "portable external hard drives", but it is unavailable and priceless.
