Apple demonstrates Final Cut Pro version 10.4, which will come with better color tools, HEVC, HDR, VR support and more; iMac Pro shows up

On the one hand, I find it inadmissible for a giant like Apple to introduce a new video format to their operating systems and not support it on "Day 1" in their main professional editor (iMovie got an update for it weeks ago). On the other hand, knowing now all the new things coming to the verse 10.4 of Final Cut Pro XUntil I forgive her a little.

Apple has participated in recent days in the FCPX Creative Summit Cupertino and took the opportunity to present the news I see in this verse. The website I was there and brought a snapshot of what was revealed by her.

In addition to the long awaited HEVC support (High Efficiency Video Coding, also known as H.265), which enables native editing of videos captured by iPhones / iPads running iOS 11, FCPX 10.4 will also bring new color adjustment tools (including new color wheels and white balance control) , HDR support, special attention to virtual reality (virtual reality, or VR) with videos in 360 and more.

The update will also bring optimizations when working with 8K resolution video, perfect challenge for iMac Pro that hit the market in December. And what did Apple take a l for the event? 😉

Along with FCPX 10.4, Apple will also release Motion 5 with some news and probably also Compressor 5. All of them are expected this year, yet.
