Apple Business Chat is an Apple business-to-consumer messaging service similar to WhatsApp Business. Through the Messaging app on iPhone (iOS) and other Apple devices such as iPad and iPod Touch, users can schedule calls, order products, and make payments online through Apple Pay. The solution is known since 2017, but only began testing in Brazil in June 2019. Here's all you need to know about the feature.

Business Chat is a business service and requires registration with Apple to enable it. Trades offering this type of contact display a "Messaging" button, for example, in the location listing on Apple Maps and in the integrated iPhone search: the user just has to touch the icon to start the conversation.
In general, service attendance begins with a botbut may include human attendants depending on business need and availability. Apple facilitates communication through features that improve the display of menus and calendars for making appointments and face-to-face appointments. In addition, Business Chat allows you to make payments directly with Apple Pay on iPhone to speed up an online order.
The iPhone chat service is still being tested even in the United States, although there are a number of closed business partnerships in the country already possible, for example, to buy from the American Apple Store for messaging. In Brazil, the arrival of the solution is still timid: the Bacio di Latte ice cream shop and Porto Seguro Cartes are two of the few that have already tested the function.
You can search for Business Chat-assisted companies on Apple Maps, Safari, Siri, or through an Apple device search tool.

No. Business Chat s can be accessed on iPhone, iPad, and iPod upgraded to iOS 11.3 or later. Messages are also synced on Apple Watch and Mac. You cannot use the service from an Android phone or a Windows computer, for example.
Will I start receiving business messages on iPhone?
No. Apple's service is designed to prevent unwanted business contacts. Only the customer can start a chat and choose what information is visible to the establishment at the time of service. Also, when the chat is over, the store or service provider does not get a copy of the conversation and is unable to initiate a new contact unless the consumer wishes.
How to identify a business chat?
While Business Chat messages are mixed with personal conversations in the Messaging app, you can distinguish them by appearance: the window has the company branding, with custom logo and colors the brand is always at the top of the screen.

How is WhatsApp Business different?
Apple's service has the same proposition as WhatsApp Business, but it has a greater privacy concern: WhatsApp allows a company to initiate customer contact and access the full message history.
The apple service also works better on iOS: it doesn't require downloading an extra app, it saves appointments directly to the iPhone calendar, and lets you pay for biometric purchases and services through Apple Pay. With this, the company does not need to ask for your card details to receive a payment.
On the other hand, Business Chat does not work on Android and still has limited availability in Brazil. In addition, famous WhatsApp features are missing that can also be used by companies in the Business version, such as Status and voice and video calls.
WhatsApp Business first came to Android, and since April 2019 can be used on the iPhone as well.
How to have Apple service in my company?
I need to register online at the Apple website (https://register.apple/business-chat) and request access to Business Chat. Only the legal guardians of the establishment can register. On the other hand, the service is available through service platforms that outsource services in Brazil. The same page from Apple brings the list of partners who can operate the chat tool to your business.
