Apple Announces MacBook Pro Battery Recall

Apple has just announced a recall worldwide and voluntary battery of certain 15-inch MacBooks Pro, sold between September 2015 and February 2017 (Retina display model released mid-2015).

Users can check whether or not their laptops are within the exchange program by entering the serial number on this recall page. Battery replacement will be free, of course.

As the recall involves batteries that could overheat (and perhaps even catch fire), Apple recommends that all users of affected machines discontinue use immediately until the change is made.

Apple warrants that the issue will not affect any other models of its MacBook (Air / Pro) line.
