Not long ago Apple joined the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) and promoted an App Store campaign focused on nature conservation. During the campaign period (10 days), it was enough to purchase the participating apps or make a purchase within them to help WWF in its endeavor.

Today Apple announced that action, in addition to impacting / raising awareness of hundreds of thousands of people, raised no less than $ 8 million this value will be used by the non-profit organization in its conservation project.
Here is the statement by Carter Roberts, CEO of WWF:
(The campaign) “Apps for planet Earth” proved that small actions can really generate big change. This campaign reinforces our efforts to protect the world's forests, oceans, freshwater and wildlife, and to combat the dual threat of climate change and unsustainable food production.
Our work is based on engaging hundreds of millions around the world to understand our deep dependence on Earth and to act to protect the natural world that supports us all.
I was delighted with the devotion that Apple and the 24 developers brought to this campaign. Their creativity and heretical efforts have taken our mission and our work in people's lives to an enormous extent. We hope that “Apps for planet Earth” has left a permanent mark on everyone who participated and inspires a new wave of conservationists.
This, however, is not the only partnership that Ma has made with the NGO. In 2015, Apple signed a long-term project with WWF to work on forest reconstruction in China. The proposal is to protect about 1 million acres of forests in the responsible exploitation of resources for the manufacture of products.
May the company continue to assume an avant-garde role in this endeavor! 🌳
