Apple and Psystar sign partial agreement to end the sale of PCs with Mac OS X pre-installed

THE Computerworld reports that Apple and Psystar closed a partial agreement yesterday in order to end sales of PCs with Mac OS X pre-installed. Few details about him have been revealed by justice, but Psystar has not yet sent all of its necessary documents, something that will only happen this afternoon.

Apple vs. Psystar on the scale

According to information revealed to the public, Psystar will pay a still unknown amount to Apple, in addition to closing the sales of PCs with the pre-installed Apple system. In return, its rival guarantees that it will not execute any judicial procedure to claim its copyright or demand compensation, until the case is closed, including in Florida.

With the agreement signed, theoretically the need for trial in San Francisco has been eliminated, but Psystar is still subject to an injunction from justice to be permanently banned from selling Mac clones. Despite ensuring that her machines will no longer leave the factory with Apple's pre-installed system, she still wants to be able to sell them with compatibility for him, thanks to the Rebel EFI.

Software created to allow Mac OS X to be installed on any PC should be excluded from a potential injunction, according to Psystar. She claims that she designed the product and is not infringing on it; however, to guarantee this, you may have to stop supporting it, making the task of installing the Apple system in “clones” at the expense and risk of those interested in it.

Such measures only ensure that the clone maker's work routine remains the same; however, things shouldn't be that easy. There is still the possibility that Psystar will not respect certain Apple licenses with the Rebel EFI, which would not leave it free from a lawsuit.
