It is not a coincidence that Apple and Google revealed the same day the addition of new emojis to their library of emoticons. Today, the 17th of July, the World Emoji Day, and the technological giants have a tradition of celebrating with news on the theme for their operating systems. The new emojis that arrive on Android and iOS smartphones were already approved in January by the Unicode Consortium. Altogether there are 117 new cones for 2020.
Regarding Google, Android smartphones are receiving a beta test update of a new quick access bar on Gboard. During the chat, users will quickly be able to use the expressions, without having to go to another separate list of emojis.
The company will also add the 117 new emojis on Android 11 during the fall, offering different options for inclusion, others have been redesigned to work correctly when users use Dark Mode. There is also the return of some classic icons such as the turtle and the frog of 2013. Apple was more selective and from the total list, it chose 13 emojis for its iOS. The correct models of the heart and lungs, a bubble tea, a ninja, a boomerang, a beaver, dodo, a pint, matrioska, a wrap and even the nhecos are on your list. The cones should reach iOS 14 at the end of the year.
