Apple acquires startup Mapsense

According to Re / code, Apple has just acquired the startup Mapsense.

Founded in 2013 by Erez Cohen (former Palantir Technologies engineer) startup is located in San Francisco and creates tools for analyzing and visualizing location data. The idea, like many of the company's latest acquisitions, is to further improve its map service in order to fight head-to-head with Google Maps.

Apple gave its traditional statement, informing that "it acquires smaller technology companies from time to time and that it does not discuss the purpose or plans of the acquisition".

Ma would have paid somewhere between $ 25 and $ 30 million for startup, currently formed by 12 people.
