Another Nintendo franchise finds its way to smartphones: Fire Emblem Heroes will hit iOS in February

, friends, it seems that NintendoAfter years of being somewhat indefinite and somber, he found his way back to the stones. In addition to the promising Switch console, the success of Pokmon GO and (in part) Super Mario Run has shown that the future is really about mobility and the possibility to play the games you want, whenever you want, wherever you want.

Proof of this is that the Japanese giant is announcing yet another title from one of its franchises for mobile devices: Fire Emblem Heroes.

The new game brings all the main features of the 25-year Fire Emblem franchise: the anime-based style and the gameplay reminiscent of RPGs, with a grid map where players lay out characters and need to attack opponents in strategy battles.

According to Nintendo's senior vice president of sales and marketing, Doug Bowser, the Fire Emblem franchise has grown exponentially in recent years and the fan base is set to expand further with the introduction of the new title for mobile devices. I cannot deny that my main motivation in writing this paragraph was to point out that a top Nintendo executive is called Bowser(!!).

The application is apparently free to play, with the In-App Purchases serving to provide players with additional items and perks at the time of battle. The game will have a totally original story, as well as dubbing, and will also feature Indian arts, "designed by a variety of artists," according to Nintendo.

Initially, Big N announced the launch for February 2 only for Android devices, stating that the iOS version would come "soon". Then the Japanese corrected themselves, and apparently both versions will arrive exactly two weeks from now. For RPG fans, the hype is high, but will the game itself live up to expectations? Let's wait and see.
