Angela Ahrendts participate in this year's edition of the traditional advertising festival Cannes Lions, as informed by the AppleInsider.
Interestingly, as described on the event website, Apple’s retail boss will be interviewed by Tor Myhren, vice president of marketing communications at Apple. The chat, which is expected to last 45 minutes, is scheduled for June 20, at 12 noon (local time; 7 am in the morning for Braslia time), and should address topics such as the vision of Apple's retail project, the "Humanization of technology" of the company and the purpose of investing in physical stores in an increasingly online world.
Of course, as Ahrendts is interviewed by someone else who also works at Apple, we are unlikely to see trick questions that escape the message that Ma wants to get across. Still, with the Cannes Lions taking place a few days after WWDC18, some news from Apple has already been announced and may be part of the conversation.
It is worth remembering that Jony Ive (Apple design chief) participated in the festival in 2014, when he took the stage with Bono, leader of the band U2 and co-founder of (RED), to be interviewed by Shane Smith (CEO of VICE). At the time, Bono even demanded from Apple more prominence for the partnership he has with (RED), which seems to have had an effect, since Ma has even launched two special editions of red iPhones (one of the iPhone 7 and the other recently, iPhone 8).
In 2015, the company won the maximum award in the Outdoor category and a Golden Leo at the festival with the campaign “Shot on iPhone” (“Clicked with iPhone”).
