WhatsApp has gained new emojis in its latest update. Next week, Nexus devices will also receive a system update that will bring a set of new Android emoji. Altogether there are 138 new emojis to use on your messengers and social networks.
WhatsApp version 2.12.373 brings several new emoji, as well as new tabs on the emoji keyboard. However, to add new emoji on Android, a system patch is needed, which will hit the Nexus 6P and 5X next week. For smartphones from other carriers you will need to wait for your smartphone manufacturer to send the patch.

New Emoji Set Includes More Symbols fitness/ sports, weather, religious, computer, some animals, more yellow smiley faces, transportation and perhaps the most important: hot dogs, unicorn and "live long and prosper". Android is still behind in support of the Unicode 8.0 standard, as Apple has already included the latest standard in iOS 9.1 and OS X El Capitan.
To get the new version of WhatsApp, just wait for the update from the Play Store or download it directly from the app's website.
