Android now runs on a Nikon camera

Other manufacturers still can't make Wi-Fi useful in a camera. Maybe Android can? The Nikon Coolpix S800c runs Gingerbread.

It makes sense that Nikon is announcing a camera with Wi-Fi, just like everyone else. So replacing a real camera with the smartphone, taking pictures and posting them online is just one activity. But the Coolpix S800c runs Android 2.3 and has 4GB of app storage. Well, manufacturers still can't make Wi-Fi useful in a camera.

Nikon Coolpix S800c

Apart from Android, the Coolpix S800c like any other point-and-shoot with Wi-Fi: it has a 16 megapixel backlit CMOS sensor, 10x optical zoom, built-in GPS, touchscreen controls and Full-HD video for $ 350. With these specifications and price, we have very similar Wi-Fi cameras, such as Samsung MV900F or Canon 530HS.

Imagine taking a photo with a professional camera and posting immediately to Facebook or Instagram?
