If you want to save an image of your smartphone screen, you have a range of options. Root Your Android and install an application print Screen, it works. But if you don't have Root done on your phone, there are still several options.
It may be that the screen capture option is already integrated in your phone. On most Android FroYo devices, you can take a screenshot by pressing the back button and at the same time the power button or the "Home" button. On GingerBread devices, you can take a screenshot by pressing the power button and quickly clicking the "Home" or back button. HoneyComb provides no built-in screenshot, and you have to root your device in order to get a screenshot unless you run Sense 3.0, in which case all you have to do is press the "Home" and off / on buttons at the same time.
