Android is present in one third of smartphones sold in Brazil

Android beats Symbian in East Asia

No one more secure the Android platform. According to the research group GfK, Google's mobile operating system already surpassed Nokia's Symbian in the third quarter as the most popular smartphone software in East Asia.

Offered free to manufacturers and used by dozens of companies, including world giants HTC, Motorola and Samsung; the adoption of the platform has been growing rapidly and has surprised market analysts and especially competitors.

GfK's research is based on the markets of Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
