You no longer have to wait for Android Auto-compatible vehicles to be at your fingertips to find out how the system will work.
This is because the new features of the car platform can be seen through the Android Auto which is available on the Play Store.
The interface is friendly, simple and fully controlled through voice commands, which makes it possible to use the service while the vehicle is being driven by the user.
Initially the application is only compatible with devices running Android Lollipop 5.0 or higher.
Below you can check the main features present in the Android Auto application.
- Navigation integrated with Google Maps – guided turn-by-turn navigation with real-time traffic directions, points of interest and more;
- Voice commands for sending messages and making calls;
- Information on weather forecast, route information and other information organized by cards;
- Integration with the songs available on the device through Play Music;
Since nobody has a head unit or a compatible car yet, you can’t use the app’s features.
From this initiative, however, it should not be long before Google embarks on its suite of standard applications the new tool.
If you have a device with Lollipop, you can try the application that can be accessed through this link.
So, what do you think of the Google initiative?
