Today, July 17, is World Emoji Day, and Google and Apple have decided to celebrate the occasion by announcing that their operating systems will receive 117 stickers soon. So far, however, we do not have an exact date for the arrival of the new package.
The emojis to be added are part of the stickers approved by the Unicode organization to enter Emoji 13.0, which includes the patterns to be used in 2020. The list includes a ninja, Russian doll, piñata, transgender symbol, beaver and anatomical organs, such as heart and lung.

Despite following Unicode standards, emojis will have different looks in each operating system. Google, for example, adapted the stickers so that they work better in dark mode, making life easier for those who «exchange messages at night,» according to the company.
Google also started testing a feature that appeared in leaks previously: a bar that makes it easier to access emojis on Gboard. In addition to having a division for the stickers, users of the company’s keyboard will also be able to quickly access the emojis in a list at the top of the interface.
Another novelty of the owner of Android are changes in some animal figurines, such as turtle, frog and pig. According to the 9to5Google, the company worked with zoos to deliver a more authentic look to emojis.
While there is still no arrival date for the new emojis on both operating systems, the trend is that the launch will occur close to the arrival of the new versions of each platform.
Android 11 is currently in beta and should arrive in its final version within the next few months. IOS 14, on the other hand, should be launched with the iPhone 12 line, which possibly will be revealed in September by Apple.
