Android 7.0 Nougat will prevent the use of mobile phones infected with malware

Google explained that Android 7.0 Nougat offers a breakthrough in protecting personal data and system integrity by preventing the startup of phones infected with malware.

According to the company, devices with compromised functioning will have their processes interrupted or may start with limited capacity, if the user has the desire to continue.

Ā«This means that a device with a corrupted boot image or partition will not boot or operate in limited capacity, with the user’s consent,Ā» said a Google spokesman.

There is, however, a side effect: cases of sporadic (non-malicious) data corruption may also result in the disruption of the device.

The Android team, however, stressed that Android Nougat includes additional code within the system designed to protect against any data corruption.

«We will use a technique called collation to allow us to recover not only from a loss of an entire source code block, but several consecutive blocks, while significantly reducing the need for space for remediation capabilities.»
