According to Android Police, Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), released this week for Nexus line devices, now has support for 4K technology and resolution.

“Google added a new category of DPI on Android: XXXHDPI. This is for screens with an approximate DPI of six hundred and forty ”, says the blog.

The information was later confirmed by Android engineer Dianne Hackborn when he warned that the platform now supports 4K digital televisions, with 3840 Ă— 2160 resolution.

“4K resolution exists in digital television and digital cinema. The term 4K refers to the horizontal resolution of these formats, which are all on the order of 4,000 pixels ”, explains Wikipedia.
