Google announced this week that Android, Google's open source operating system, brings a new global identity and focus on digital inclusion.
Titled Android 1010th Anniversary Edition – Since it was introduced to the market, the new generation of the Android platform completely changes the global brand identity.
Known for taking candy names in alphabetical order for each new version of the operating system, Android now advocates more global equality and leaves the letters and desserts behind, adopting the numbers instead.
"With the mission of bringing the power of computing to everyone through an open platform for the mobile device industry, opening up Android has enabled a broad innovation ecosystem, pushing the boundaries of hardware and software," said Google.
“Allowing developers to reach billions of users with new experiences. In the last decade, this has expanded beyond tablet phones, cars, watches, TVs and more. ”
New and innovative face mascot
In 2014, the Android brand was changed and the green color got darker shade inspired by its mascot, the Android robot. New in Android 10: The color palette features different high-contrast combinations to better cater for visually impaired people.

Recently, Android announced that the brand powers 2.5 billion active devices globally.
The operating system around the world was built with teams spread across the US, Europe and Asia, among others.
Android's mission is to bring the power of computing to everyone through an open platform for the mobile device industry.
This platform has enabled a broad innovation ecosystem, pushing the boundaries of hardware and software and allowing developers to reach billions of users with incredible new experiences.
According to Google, Brazil today has a larger number of Android users that surpasses the US domestic market.
The searcher also commented that if Android had kept its traditional candy names, the Brazilian dessert "Quindim" would have competed to become the co-brand of the operating system.
Even with the high popularity of Android in Brazil, there is no forecast for the arrival of the Pixel line in the country.
