Analyst believes that in 2016 the Apple Watch will only receive an “S” style update

There were those who expected a new version of the Apple Watch coming now, but Apple brought us only new bracelets including the special Herms line. Even so, sooner or later this year we should see the launch of the Apple Watch 2.

If we take the history of the iPhone and iPad, from its first to second generations Apple has made significant changes even in its external design. But the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, from KGI Securities, does not believe that this will be repeated with the clock.

In a note released today to investors and some vehicles like the AppleInsider, Kuo said he believes the Apple Watch update this year will be “S” style, meaning it should come with some spec improvements but nothing significantly changed in terms of format. A thinner profile, for example, would look for the 2017 version.

The analyst, who estimated sales of 10.6 million Apple Watches in 2015, predicts a drop this year to 7.5 million (and looks that the product only hit the market in April, last year). Kuo does not think the clothing market (wearables) still avenged a segment still somewhat “immature” and says that the Apple Watch still needs a “Killer app”, as well as a longer battery life.
