Anacom approved on 29 June the distribution of competences among the members of its new board of directors, installed last Wednesday.
According to the resolution, the new president of the regulatory body, José Manuel Amado da Silva, will have the power to decide on matters dealt with by the Department of Management and Support to the Council and Department of Communication and Image, in addition to coordinating and deciding matters dealt with within the Communications Committee, the European Regulators Group, the Independent Regulators Group and the South American Regulators Group.
Vice-chairman of the board of directors, Alberto Afonso Souto de Miranda will assume the coordination of the Regulatory and Legal Affairs Department, Inspection Department and Foreign Affairs Department.
José Ferrari Careto, as a member, will be responsible for deciding the matters developed and dealt with by the Spectrum Management Department, Markets Regulation Department, Technologies and Equipment Department, Financial and Administrative Department and financial, budgetary and administrative management of the regulator.
Maria Teresa Rodrigues Xavier Pintado Maury, also a member of the board of directors, will have the necessary powers to authorize expenses up to 40 thousand euros and to «delegate to the directors the signature of the correspondence and file necessary to execute deliberations and decisions superiorly taken in processes that run by the respective directorates and departments «, explains a statement.
