Anacom takes Cabovisão to court

Sapo opens laboratory at the University of Aveiro

Cabovisão will be taken to court by Anacom for not having paid a fine imposed by the regulator.

The fine of 15 thousand euros was imposed in April this year and penalized Cabovisão for not providing information legally provided for.

The cable television, Internet and telephone services company did not pay the fine on a voluntary basis, nor did it come forward with any appeal that challenged its application and justified non-payment.

Cabovisão’s inaction prompted an answer by Anacom, which in this case is the recourse to the Lisbon Commercial Court, to enforce the fine.

The information not provided by Cabovisão has to do with data related to «fixed retail and interconnection services to define relevant markets and evaluate SMP» for 2005.
