Anacom lowers circuit rental prices and reduces installation times

Anacom has announced a price reduction for leased lines that reduces by 15 percent the amount charged by PTC to alternative operators for capacities between 256 Kbps and 2 Mbps.

The prices for 155 Mbps digital circuits are reduced by 20 percent, compared to the value proposed by PT ComunicaƧƵes, which now has a period of 15 days to make the necessary changes and publish them.

The regulator also advanced with a reduction in the maximum legal deadlines for the installation of circuits, which for 95 percent percent of the occurrences will be 33 days, when 64 kbps leased lines are involved or 37 days for leased lines. 2Mbps (structured and unstructured).

With regard to 34 Mbps leased lines, the stipulated deadlines are 59 days – for unstructured lines – and 62 days for structured lines.

As a statement informs, values ​​between 25 and 100 percent of the circuit monthly fee were also defined as penalties for PTC whenever the leased circuits service has an availability below 99.96 percent.

The deadlines for the repair of faults proposed by PTC are maintained by the regulator, which only asks for the fixing of a resolution period when the faults are located on an underwater cable, a situation not included in the list of deadlines provided by the incumbent.
