The proposals of the jury that considered the applications for the competition for the allocation of licenses for Digital Terrestrial Television were approved. The approval was made by the communications regulator, Anacom and by the ERC – Regulatory Entity for Social Communication and confirms the victory of PT Comunicações as a service provider qualified to manage the offer of channels on the new platform.
The confirmation made today by Anacom applies to the tender for Mutiplexer A, which comprises the offer of open signal services, where PT was the only competitor.
In the statement, the regulator adds that the approval for Multiplexers B to F, those that will comprise the paid services, had already been made on the 16th of October.
In this last competition, PTC was on the side of Airplus TV, which ended up challenging the decision in favor of the Portuguese group, accusing the jury of lack of transparency in the evaluation process and distortions in the process.
