“AMD Radeon” GPUs on smartphones

It looks like the future is coming fast, and we'll see Radeon GPUs on smartphones.

After announcing a partnership with Samsung, the US company AMD, had a 7% growth in its shares on the stock market (Nasdaq). Then a big market change could happen.

Now the company is partnering with South Korean Samsung, heating up the mobile market and fostering competition from Samsung processors against Qualcomm's. Further details have not been revealed, but we know that AMD will license its graphics processor intellectual property (IP) to Samsung. The use will be in mobile devices, any type of gadgets included in this premise, obviously including the smartphones from the company.

This strategic partnership will extend the reach of our high performance Radeon graphics processors to the mobile phone market, significantly expanding the Radeon user base and development ecosystem., says Lisa Su, current CEO of AMD.

With that Samsung pay royalties AMD when using its technology. It is interesting to mention that on the consoles AMD champ, therefore, both Sony and Microsoft use graphics solutions of the company. The Nintendo Switch already has an NVIDIA graphics processor.

This news made me very happy, I'm very excited about the possibilities. As a company develops and refines its products, competition is bound to do the same or stay behind. At the end of the story, we are the consumers who benefit from us.

Until the next post, SYSTEMATICALLY!
