AMD and Intel resolve out-of-court legal disputes

The world's largest processor manufacturers today announced an agreement to finalize their patent infringement and antitrust disputes, which have been ongoing for a long time. Thanks to the payment of US $ 1.25 billion and adoption of new commercial practices, Intel will be free of all regional and global complaints from AMD.

A five-year agreement was signed between the two companies, covering technologies of which both have patents and which they will be able to use freely, with the possibility of renewal. However, some lawsuits that Intel still faces in the courts will continue to follow suit as it did with its trust charges opened in New York and the European Community, although they have no further trace of complaints from AMD.

The two companies conducted conference calls to clarify details of the agreements signed and communicate what needs to be changed in the conduct of both, so that they can live better in the market. The audio from Intel's conference can be accessed online, as well as from AMD.
