Look, what a coincidence (or not): just yesterday, we published an article with updated details of the coming HomeKit support on Wi-Fi routers. Apparently, Apple brought this information because it knew something was coming.
Today, months after the original promise, Amazon finally started releasing a firmware update for its routers eero with HomeKit support.
In addition to the firmware update itself (eeroOS 3.18.0 or higher), Amazon also updated the app today eero home WiFi system for iOS:
In the release notes, she says: “With Apple HomeKit, eero gives you even more protection for your HomeKit accessories and an easy way to manage what they can communicate with at home and over the internet.”
As we reported in yesterday’s article, the only downside of this is that it is necessary to remove / reset all HomeKit accessories and re-add them via the Casa app (Home) to make use of that extra protection. Amazon also published a support article about the novelty.
The line of eero routers unfortunately (still?) Is not sold in Brazil.
