Considering all the accumulated experience and tuning of the Twitch streaming platform, Amazon Web Services decided to adapt its architecture to a business offering. The service, dubbed the Amazon Interactive Video Service (IVS) opens doors for companies and brands to offer a more personalized experience to their respective audiences.
As Amazon explains on its blog, companies will be able to add live videos directly to their apps and websites, with the guarantee of interaction and low latency tools, either through the IVS console or with an API. The service includes a video player in the SDK package, to be easily implemented both in the internet browser, and in projects for iOS and Android.
More than replicating the usual experience than seen on Twitch, Amazon added two additional features to this business project. At first it refined the latency of the live video, allowing the image to reach the audience with a maximum of 2-3 seconds delay. The company explains that this is essential if brands need to create interactive applications and uses in real time.
On the other hand, it will be possible to create metadata with timestamps, so that during streaming events can be activated automatically. For example, do a live poll, the application being to manage the votes of the audience while the video is running. Amazon believes that this type of experience will allow you to create more personalized experiences and bring brands closer to your audience.
Imagine that a company is doing a live streaming of the launch of a product, you can schedule the synchronization of them to appear on the video timeline or possibly put a button to buy now, that leads the audience to the respective store.
