Almost 2 million people downloaded Google Chrome in the first week

According to data from Nielsen Online, approximately 2 million people in the United States downloaded the new Google browser in its first week of launch.

Nielsen, which has a statistics base that monitors the behavior of internet users, said that 1.93 million people visited the “thank you” page associated with the Chrome download process.

According to the measurement company, this number may seem low but it is a “great answer when it comes to a beta product that most people don’t need”. Source: Cnet
