Alleged performance analysis of the future Mac Pro also appears on the Geekbench website

Earlier today we saw alleged performance analyzes of a future MacBook Pro Retina, which should be released by Apple soon following the recent launch of MacBooks Air. benchmark of him that he painted in the Geekbench database: a supposed analysis of the future Mac Pro he also appeared around there.

In it, we see the code AAPLJ90,1 and the following settings: a processor 12-core of the future generation “Ivy Bridge-E” (Xeon E5-2697 v2, running at 2.7GHz, 64GB of RAM, with OS X 10.9 Mavericks in its 13A2054 build.

Contrary to what we imagine, the performance gains * are not * huge. Especially if compared to the current generation (with the top-of-the-line Xeon model with 12 cores running at 3.07GHz):

But according to John Poole of Primate Labs, there are some explanations for this. He expected a score of around 30,000 points (maybe up to 40,000), but the truth is that his words are talking about a machine not yet launched, which is in the testing phase and which will remain very likely until the end of the year. Hardware, firmware and even the beta version of OS X 10.9 may be "hindering" performance. The new processor can process twice as much information as the current processor, but only some software is ready and can take advantage of it.

The tip here: patience. Only after the official launch can we analyze this data and draw conclusions.
