Apple should really wait until 2020 to deploy 5G network on iPhones

All 2020 iPhones may support 5G

Last June, the famous and respected review of TF International Securities, Ming Chi Kuo, suggested that Apple be able to launch three iPhones next year with only the top-of-the-line models (successors of the XS and XS Max iPhones successors) being supported by 5G technology, the entry model, successor to the XR successor , would have "only" 4G / LTE support.

However, an important fact of the past week has changed the direction of this analyst's forecast; As we have reported, Apple has acquired part of Intel's modem business, not only covering Intel's industry employees, such as Intel's chip technologies and patents. With that, Kuo reconsidered that Apple could implement 5G support on all iPhone models to be released in 2020.

More than ability to implement technology in your future gadgetsKuo also considers the 5G to be a must-have feature for Apple, as it is expected that incoming Android devices (which can cost as low as $ 350) will have this support by mid-2020 and Ma need, of course, compete.

In this regard, all future models of the Ma smartphone should support the faster (mmWave) and sub-6GHz bands, technologies on which 5G cell towers in the United States are being installed. In China, however, Apple is expected to release a specific model that only supports sub-6GHz frequencies as it did with the two-chip tray XS and XS Max iPhones, as the mmWave bands have not yet been implemented.

As we have already commented, Kuo believes that the 2020 iPhones lineup will consist of three models: one with 6.7 inch screen, one with 6.1 inch and finally one with 5.4 inches all equipped with displays. OLED, unlike current models and (probably) this year's devices, which should once again include a handset equipped with LCD screen.
