Alcatel-Lucent supports Vodafone DSL service

Vodafone has the support of Alcatel-Lucent to implement a solution capable of supporting the network with service capacity triple-play for DSL provision, the same that will support the fixed broadband offer proposed by the operator last week.

The statement issued by the manufacturer states that the two companies are together through a three-year contract that implies, in a first phase, that Alcatel-Lucent provides a solution that allows to offer voice and Internet services.

The TPSDA architecture (triple play service delivery architecture), from the manufacturer, was implemented by Vodafone which, in this way, is able to «respond to all the communication needs of its customers, complementing the existing mobile services portfolio with high quality interactive fixed network services».

The same press release also states that Alcatel-Lucent provided its IP access platform for triple-play ISAM – Intelligent Services Access Manager -, the Network Analyzer and the Home Network Management solution for the management of equipment installed in residential and business customers. The next generation Service Router, Service Aware Manager and Access Gateway Controller were also supplied by the European manufacturer.

Alcatel-Lucent has participated in several projects in this area and is currently involved in more than 40 projects triple-play and in more than 40 network transformation projects.

It should be noted that the manufacturer was also chosen by PT Comunicações for its IP television service, meo.
