Alcatel-Lucent and HP together over the next 10 years

Microsoft and Nokia announce alliance

Alcatel-Lucent and HP signed a global alliance that over the next 10 years unites companies in offering solutions for convergence between telecommunications and IT.

Under the agreement, companies will jointly promote solutions and capabilities end-to-end for service providers and companies, which make it possible to transform the current communications networks into convergent new generation networks, offering the user a unique interface for both aspects.

Small and medium-sized companies have their own prominent place in the partnership that unites the two companies, as well as the public sector. Both will have at their disposal integrated solutions from the two manufacturers, in the area of IP telephony, unified communications, mobility, security and contact center. These solutions will reach the customer through HP resellers or in the form of managed services.

The same agreement provides that HP will manage a large part of Alcatel-Lucent’s IT infrastructure, an option that the company believes will allow it to achieve significant savings over the term of the agreement.

It is recalled that Alcatel-Lucent has accumulated losses for nine consecutive quarters.
